Caby Styers

Position: President

I am senior majoring in Anthropology and Asian Studies with a Minor in Korean Language. I am currently working on an Anthropology honors thesis about Korean immigration into NC. I love anthropology because of the depth and breadth of its topics. Creating understanding and discovering new perspectives, is one of the greatest products that I see in anthropological work. I joined SUA because I love sharing this interest with others.

Christopher Lopez

Position: Public Relations

Ad Lane

Position: Vice President/ Treasurer

I am a Senior from Holly Springs, NC and my major is Anthropology and Geography, with a minor in Neuroscience. I am interested in creative expression and heritage preservation.

Jullian Shiba

Position: Event Planner

Hey! I’m Jillian and I’m a sophomore transfer student from San Jose, California majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Spanish. I joined SUA because I wanted to be involved at UNC with other students interested in anthropology, which is a field that I really love because it gives me a greater understanding and appreciation of the world around me. In the future, I hope to be working somewhere in the medical field and living on the beach in Santa Cruz with my many dogs & an exciting mix of classic rock and r&b/rap playing at all times.

Emily Jarrett

Position: Secretary

I’m a Senior from Charlotte, NC. I’m an Anthropology and Global Studies double major, with a minor in Creative Writing. After I graduate, I hope to work with a non-profit doing some kind of conservation work. I joined SUA because I love the way Anthropology looks at the things and I wanted to be involved in an organization of people who also appreciated the world like that.

Supreet Goraya

Hi! I’m currently a sophomore double majoring in Biology and Anthropology and minoring in Medical Anthropology. I joined SUA to be more involved at the Anthropology department at UNC and connect with others that share my love for biological anthropology.
